A few questions

Hey you guys,

Sorry to be another random person asking for a look at a horse but I wanted to see what you guys think of our naughty horse Jeb, and yodda the sweet older man.

Jeb is a morgan cross ???. He has a fiesty personalitie that will test any beginener with things like, niping, kicking, eats flattening, etc. I guess you would call him a Hot horse. He has a walk that will bounce you out of the seat, and a trot just as bad. Though when he runs ether on lunge or in the pasture, He sure is a sight to see.

He is roughly 16hs, and has a thin mane. He cocks his tail to the side and has IRON hooves.

First I'll start with the questions.
What can jeb be crossed with?
How is his body Critique?
Right now he is just a trail horse, but how are his

Sorry for the bad photo.

He has a bigg, loveable face though he gives you the evil look at every moment you try to do something with him. lol He's stuborn and a pain.

Here is Yoda. He is a Appendix Sorel gelding with stable cough, and poor feet. The poor boy has extremely soft feet and has had laminitis in the past. Please tell me of any of his major faults and if i need to watch over him when he gets older.

Upright feet?

Also, pictures from our ride! No critque just showing off our ride through the mini earthquake.

We were in this feild when the earthquake hit here in va. Jeb tripped, stopped, and threw his head up just as the rumble came up from behind us and down the hill. I thought the earth was opening up but than the house infront of the feild shook and i realized it was a earthquake! Yoda and my freind judy was behind me and yoda was just like, "duhhh..." Atleast now we know, yodas a earthquake proof horse!

Sorry about the big photos. Can the admins downsize them? the time limit expired.

I have no confo critique but could you please move the browband up on Jeb's bridle. It's too low and looks tight because of it.

AnimalFarm2006 08-23-2011 10:39 PM

Yup! I have been having adjustment problems with that bridle so on tack day, I need to clean everything and figure out why it is hard to get on him.

Animal Farm,

Jeb is very pretty. The photos are not good enough for a good critique. He looks like he might have Standardbred in him. that would be my guess.

His crabbiness sounds like my friend's QH, who it turned out had been wearing a saddle for years that bore down on his wither bone, had an ulcer, so it hurt to tighten the cinch, and had such badly trimmed feet that he had virtually no heel and it affected his stance all around.

Ulcer medicine, new saddle and wedges in his shoes to lift up over his heels and he is much less grumpy all around. He still is a bit crabby, but on a very minor level.

Consider that pain somewhere might be a daily part of Jeb's life and making him mentally sour. Maybe not, though. Just a thought.

Your throat latch is too low on his cheek so maybe you need a size bigger for a bridle.

Derp! I should know that. I even thought about it but I completely discarded it from my mind. Long day...

Thanks admins for the photo downsize!!!

Too the person who said he may be in pain, I really don't think that's it. you see before he came here, The owner was scared of him because he would charge her out of the arena. No one wanted him because he was just this big mean horse. He's a extremely smart horse so after trying that with my roomies, back before I came here, Jeb learned that he wasn't in charge anymore. Catching him still requires making him trot laps around the arena untill he gives in, and he has to be told his manners every so often, but he's just jeb. The master of getting out of all things not fun.

And thanks for the throat latch thoughts! I'll work on that before next weeks ridding.

Standard bred. That would describe why his trot is a million miles faster than poor yodas canter. If I trot a head, Yoda will break into a canter to catch up.

The photos are too poor for me to really conformation critique Jeb. Yoda is ewe necked and over all not a very good horse conformation wise (but she probably is a nice trail horse).

What I do like is that you obviously really like these horses and are having a lot of fun with them (even if Jeb is avoiding work). You and your attitude is what I like the most. Keep on learing and enjoying these two.
