so she has been my trainer since last December and we went to a couple of shows with magic and it was all working out. then when he went lame in November and I started riding her horse. she gave me lessons on her and then.. she decided that she wanted me to buy her horse (this idea was entirely for her benefit only, as the horse was TOTALLY unsuitable! - spooky, behind the leg,and just not what I wanted) and one day in February I tried jumping her horse (becuz she wanted me too see how "good" her horse was over jumps) and she bucked me off over one and I broke my clavicle. and heres a shocker: She charged me for the lesson!!! (which btw was only 1/2 an hour, but she charged full!) :o Then it sort of started there, my mom e-mailed her asking what was the "universal trainers" etiquette for lessons where the student is hurt, and suddenly my trainer got all defensive and weird. we kept going with the horse search (once my arm was healed) and after almost buying one (that she didnt really like) and we LOVED (but she had an eye tumor)
she was slacking by not really caring about the my horse search and wrapped up in herself (shes a very young trainer and is new in training, and so rude!) to cut a long story short.. she was rude about a few horses (showing us hand-me-down horses that her other clients had already tried and didnt like) and then a couple where just totally unrelated to what I want. like one was a 3 year old western paint! (and I ride english and want a warmblood type, over 6 years old) and then one was a mule! (haha i get a laugh out of that)
and then she started getting greedy with money and saying rude things such as "well we are just going to have to find 2 horses for what you want to do" (all i want is a safe horse that I can do hunter/jumper on and dressage) and blah blah. so then my mom and i started talking and we e-mailed her about things and maybe if we could ramp up the effort a little (in a nice way) and then she comes back with a nasty e-mail about how we "took three months to decide on a horse!" uggghhh. so then emails went back and forth and she just got really awful. we decided to find a place for magic (unrelated to the trainer problem) and we were no longer training together. so yea..
you get a cookie if you read the whole thing xD
sry for the long rant :/
aww...im sorry. Yeah you get the trainers who are all in in for themselves. Well at least Magic is out of there! Three months isnt bad...You just want to find a good horse that can last a while not one that might go lame the next week cause you didnt even ride it and just bought it.
Ugh. There are those people out there and it makes me mad! I'm sorry you had to go through that, Magic.... but you're better off looking for a new trainer that might actually help you.
Best of luck! 3 months is NOTHING when you're out looking for the perfect partner ;)
PS - do you want my address for that cookie now? ;)
ummm she is crazy, 3 months is not a long time ... you don't want to just buy anything, you want the horse for you and that will work well ... anywho way to stand up for yourself! :)
i want my cookie too haha jk
Aw I'm sorry you had to go through that. :( Ah sucky trainers lol.
-eats cookie- haha.
Here's my address for the cookie:
No just kidding. Good for you for getting rid of whoever this individual is. You obviously can do better and you don't need her. At this rate she will find herself running out of clientele as the words spreads she doesn't have any loyalty to her clients. She's got a lot to learn and unfortunately it's going to likely cost her her career.
Yeah but hey it brought out her true person. Good luck finding a good horse that suits you
thanks everyone :)
I know! I couldnt have found a horse within 3 months!
yep, here the "cookie":
