I'm only taking my horse about 20 minutes away. Do I NEED shipping boots or can i just use splint boots on the front and back legs?

either, or none depending on your horse and how he unloads. I like putting boots on to protect them from bumps and scrapes when they unload.

If the horse travels well, then don't worry about it.
You can always put the splint boots on though so that you don't have to worry about doing it when you get there.

I put wraps on BUT one of my horses is not the quietest and I drive hour+ usually. With 20 mins and quiet horse I'd say you are safe to go without boots.

I second it. If the horse is quiet, boots are not necessary for short trips.
I use shipping boots wherever I go now because my anglo arabian is a nutball. This just depends on what your horse is like.
