Could anyone reccomend boots for me?

I'm looking for a good riding boot that can handle rough treatment and trails and in mud, ect. I love the Ariat Heritage western boots, but I can't afford that much right now. I love the look of English riding boots, but they dont seem that practical for trails. I ride Aussie and Western, and I need a taller boot. Could anyone reccomend a sturdy brand that wont cost me half my paycheck? And let me stress that my boots take a beating

I wear my Ariat Terrain H2Os EVERYWHERE. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, outside my Adidas cross-trainers. When I ride, I just pull on a pair of half chaps and I'm ready to go.

The Terrain H2Os are water proof (I know this from experience! lol), have a tread like a hiking boot and look pretty good, too.

I have them in a lighter color than this (think they may have stopped making the lighter color?):
Endurance Boots Terrain H2O - Ariat

The trainer at our barn has a regular pair of Terrains that she wears all the time, as well. She does the same thing I do and just throws on a pair of half chaps when she's going to ride. She's jealous that mine are H2Os, though. ;-)
Here's the ones she has:

(For what it's worth, we both have the same color, which is called "Sunshine")

Thanks, but Ariats are too expensive for me right now. I'd like to stay around $50-$60 if possible.

Have you checked out eBay? If you know for certain what size Ariat boots will fit you, you can easily find a pair on eBay within your budget. There are plenty of good deals! I got my Ariat Heritage paddock boots for $30 or so, brand new still in box... compared to almost $120 if I bought them locally at the store. :)

Has anyone ever heard of Sheplers boots? I found some that I like that are in my price range but idk how good they are.

I didn't know schepler's had their own brand. We have a boot store here that sells used boots (its called French's I think). I always check them out first. It can be hit or miss, but I've gotten my last three pairs of boots there. You can find the good brands like Ariat and Justin for like $35-$60 in really good shape too. You might want to check around and see if there's anything like that in your area. If not I would try eBay. Just make sure you know exactly what size you wear (probably a good idea to go ahead and try some on at the store so you know for sure). Good luck :)

ariat heritage ropers are terrible for your purpose, I have some, they look good are comfy, but your feet get wet walking in wet grass in the AM,

Go to "sportsmansguide" dot com, good websight that has factory seconds and sometime weird colors at really cheap prices. They have full price name brand and off brand stuff too, look at the deals catalogs on the left, I got 8" Justin waterproof steel toe roper lacers for $70 last spring, love em, I get all my work and western boots there, you just have to keep checking to find what you want in your size as they change all the time.
