Hello from California!
Hello everyone! My name is Jessenia (Jessie for short), and I'm a 16 year old from California (duh! lol) I've always had a passion for horses, and ever since I was little I've had a need to be around them. I used to ask to go horse back riding for my birthday when I was young, but eventually my mom said it was about time I stopped being so obsessed with such things. I still have a passion for horses, and animals in general. I currently own one sun conure and four budgies. They are very entertaining, and I love them to bits! I still feel the need to be around horses though! Well my family might be moving to a new house (It'll be around 2-4 acres) and my dad said I could get a horse if it was free! Well I know that most people wouldnt willingly rehome their beloved horse with a novice rider like me for free, so I've decided to start saving money and have gotten a job. I really cant wait until I can get a horse! Whenever I go to my friends house I always bug them to ride theirs (I think they get tired of it sometimes :P) I've been researching horses for years (ever since I had a computer available, which is when I was about 6 years old). I really want to get a horse that is good for running long distance, and being able to jump very well. I know its dependent on the horses, but are there any breeds that you guys could recommend? Well to be more clear, these are the traits I want in a horse: Able to jump Can run long distance Not really a draft type horse (I'm only 112 pounds and chances are my older sister will be riding my horse. She is only 90 pounds :P) A breed known for being spirited I would like to have a horse in some kind of paint color Also I would like one that looks somewhat regal I'm not looking for a purebred, but breeds to go off of, using these traits, would be really helpful :) Also Any horse I will be getting, my dad has decided I have to learn to ride on my own. (We will be living really far out away from horse centers so it would be torturous and unfair to haul a horse through the desert every week like that.) I will be graduating high school this year and will be commuting to college or possibly even take online classes. So any horse I get will most likely be with me for the rest of its life (I have never given away any of my animals and probably never will :) ) Sorry for rambling so much, I hope I get to know you all! Any advise is well appreciated :)
