IS this the right move?

ok..heres the deal, i need a new horse badley, my little mare is just too small now, i really shouldn't be riding her this year, but i am, she's going this winter. but we don't have the money to go and buy a perfect horse. my moms friend found this horse online and told her to give a look at it, what do you think?

personally, i think he's a little to young but you never know...

4 is not a bad age as long as you are either experienced to deal with a young horse or have a trainer than could help you.

The horse doesn't look bad, but i don't know what type of riding you want to do with the horse, how tall you need/want it to be.

i would be riding mostly english

Would you just ride for pleasure? or plan on showing in different classes?

What about height? is that horse a good height?

Are you experienced or have a trainer that could help you train that horse even more?

englishcowgrl 06-05-2008 03:34 PM

i would show in 4H and fun, that is a good height for me for sure, and yes i would have help

ok, well then if you like her (feel comfortable on her and you think you two match good) then go for it. Or maybe see if you can do a trial first to make sure you two will be good.

Out of curiosity, why wouldn't you want a horse than young?

He's pretty...just make sure you have a trainer or something to help you- as 4yr olds can be a handful! Well, most younger horses in general.
If you like him, I'd check him out.

Definitely take the advice about a trainer.... young horses can be as fickle as the wind.

Also, it sounds like he is green - are you prepared for a greenish horse?

i think he sounds great, but, like everyone else has stated, hes young so you'll most likely need help. Good Luck!! Hes pretty.
Are you selling your other horse and then getting him or keeping both?
