Hackamores

So this might be a silly question....but hackamores are always illegal in dressage right? For events and things? I know one of the main points is acceptance of the bit, but what about acceptance of the bridle?

Also, are they legal for the jumping phases?

my ottb had his tongue tied when he raced, and i think this causes lots of issues when it comes to reaching for the bit. Recently we had him in a hackamore and he loved it!

Thanks!

Where I live hackamores are not allowed for the dressage portion, but are totally OK for the jumping events. Probably best to double check with the eventing organization where you live, but it's pretty standard to disallow hackamores for dressage.
