anyone tried a equine chiropractor
I just recently heard of this but was wondering how credible it is? Has anyone ever tried this or the pain release from pressure points?
I myself haven't. But I know someone who has. I don't know about pain release from pressure but I do "pony yoga" as I call it. Basic stretching before ad after we ride. Things like stretching neck muscles by bringing his face in by his belly, picking up his front legs and lifting his knees high in front of him(helps make sure there are no folds of skin under girth to get pinched too), tickling his belly so he hunches his back up, stretching his back legs, pulling on his tail, etc. There are a lot of different ones.
I do plan on calling the chiropractor in 2 years when my boy hits 15, that and a massage therapist(luckily one boards where I do) to give him a "spa day". At 15, he's has someone on him for 13 years..I'm sure there's something even if very minor that doesn't bother him, that could be adjusted.

Equine chiropractic is an extremely valuable and legitimate treatment (providing you use a knowledgeable, licensed equine chiropractor). My horse is adjusted about every six months, or more often if she is feeling particularly one-sided. During an adjustment you can see the change in the straightness of her back and the levelness of her hips and shoulders. Personally, I view chiropractic care as every bit as essential as regular farrier work and veterinary treatment.
My horse sees a chiropractor ever 2/3 months and it has helped him a lot. Personally I don't see this as a fast acting cure, but it has definatly helped him with his back soreness as she determined the problem and gave us several options on how to help him become sound again.

Our horse has been laid up for several months due to an injury and she has been seeing a Equine massage therapist every couple of weeks. It has kept her supple and relaxed since she is not getting any regular work.
Both Equine Chiropractor and Massage therapists are a great thing.
My TB gelding sees his Equine Chiro on a regular basis as well, and many Competative Mounts get adjusted by an Equine Chiro on a regular basis as well.
Being adjusted by a Chiro is just as important for horses, as it is for ourselves. Their hips go out, their shoulders, jaw, poll, spinal column, etc, etc go out just as easily as ours can. How can you expect your horse to perform accordingly, if they have something out? Hips, shoulders, spinal column..etc, etc.
Do a search on the internet and you'll find plenty of valuable information on how important equine chiropractics are.
I've seen a demo once. She worked on stiff and somewhat crooked horse. I have to say the horse improved after the session. Also part of what she did looked like something quite easy to do for the usual horse owner.
I have the chiro/accupuncturist to the barn once a month. Of course they don't all need done, I have a few pasture puffs that are in easy retirement but she gives everyone that is being worked a good once over.
For me the chiro is an invaluable part of my horse's care team.
I use one for me and my horse if you are stiff and in pain you can not do your job right. The price can be high in some areas, but it is always worth every pennie.
Staright up quackery, there is no real standards for even human chiropractice. There have been no conclusive actual sicientific studies showing it does much of anything on people. The schools are a joke, diploma mills. Get online and look at some studies. Not anecdotal evidence but actual studies.
Anecdotes are the crutch of snake oil salesmen that have no scientific data to back up their claims.
Find a charlatan to dress up and do a dance around your horse while waving feathers and blowing pixie dust in the air. I am sure you can find people that will swear how great it is.
