The good with the bad...
I read alot of posts from riders and horse owners asking for help on certain training problems. So, I thought it would be fun to list one or two things your horse does really well and one or two things that could be better.
Good: She is a dream to catch, very gentle and tries hard. There's more but those are most appreciated.
Bad: For me, it's the canter. Talk about needing some work (both of us so really can't blame her). And she eats her grain like a maniac. Like she has never been fed in her life - which she has.
She melts my heart when she looks at me "in that way", ears up, eyes wide, nose murmuring.
She gets impatient on the trail when we stop, frantically pawing (or slamming is more like it) wanting to bolt, flipping around. But she is getting better...
I love how intently Cooper listens when I go to catch him- hes very good at matching my speed, stopping right as i do. I also love how he is completely voice command trained when lunging.
He could use work on his whoa under saddle, he takes a few extra steps. He doesnt tie well so it makes me cautious when I need to.
Good: she's alive (vet thought I was nuts to take her), she nickers to call me to visit her when I arrive home from work, and has an honest heart.
Bad: really, REALLY rough gaits, but then I never try to collect her either. So I guess I'm bad
Good: She's my heart horse and has been since I first saw a pic of her on the internet. She's loving, gentle and so willing. She's totally smooth to ride and totally honest.
Bad: She's an effing HAG to other horses, especially to my little Medicine Hat 2 y.o. I mean she HATES that filly and tries to corner her and kick her every chance she gets.
Good: Amber's so smart and sweet. She has perfect ground manners and learns everything so quickly. She always wants to cuddle and actually fell asleep with me holding her head the other day!
Bad: She's so stubborn! It takes a LOT of work to get her to do what I want. It's also taken her a year to really respect and trust me.
