Sort of gave up searching for a horse, then I stumbled upon this one. What do you think of him as an eventer? I think he has really cute movement!
"12 y/o 1/2 Connemara and 1/2 Thoroughbred for sale. Big boy between 15 and 16 hands. Was trained to jump and had jumped 3 1/2 foot fences as a 3 year old. Placed 10th in the nation in 2000 in the AWR Sportpony Division Tour. Has been left out to pasture for the past few years, but I have started ridng him again recently. I have never personally jumped him except on the lounge. I aquired him from my aunt in Texas where he had been shown a bit and been in the ribbons. He is having a problem about putting a bit in his mouth right now, but its due to him needing his teeth floated. I would have them done but I am a broke college student getting ready to go to vet school and need to find this big guy a home. He is a fast learner and tries to please. He has never offered to kick or buck. Would love it if someone could keep him doing what he knows how to do, jump."
He is $900, a project of course.
Thanks, haha. I know I post a lot of these, none seem to work out :(
He is cute!! I would like to see him canter, is he good to ride? Make sure you get him vetted and have his teeth looked at before you buy him, to make sure that's the issue with his mouth!! I think he will be awesome!!
I have not gone an looked at him yet, I'm waiting for conformation pictures to be sent. I'm told he is ridden irregularly but does well when he can be worked with.
Worth looking at if he jumps well but not one I would look at for dressage (movement wise).
OK for eventing dressage? Lol
Probably get by with lower level eventing dressage.
The problem is he is a lower leg mover and does not use his whole body/shoulder in his movement.
If he can use his body/shoulder better for jumping then he should be ok.
Oh okay. I can see that now, thanks!
He doesn't move out from the shoulder very much. Looks like the way he is conformed.
See, this is why I have you guys. I'm blind when it comes to movement critique. Plus, I am fairly new to the eventing world, so choosing a horse with correct conformation is difficult.
You all have great patience :D
Just recieved some confo shots. Also, there should be another video (hopefully jumping) coming up. Whatcha think?
