Curly Horses
I was just wondering what you thought of Curly Horses? Anyone on here ever own them or work with them? I own two and they are my favorite breed ever!!

Never heard of them! Small pictures, but they are very cute.

They're cute! They arent very many of them where I live though. I havent ridden one, but I hear they tend to have very sweet dispositions.

They are fantastic! Alot of people think that they are harder to care for because of their coats but their not at all! People should look more into them. They are truely unique.

That's cool...they seem unique for sure. :D

I have seen a lot of pictures of those guys. Curious as to what causes the hair to be like that. Very neat.

Curly Horses
It was just a genetic mutation in the breed. The Indians considered them sacred just like they did in some tribes with the Appaloosas. But then some people began to slaughter them when they were starting to be sold on the market because they were "unusual". It drives me NUTS when people think that their coats are hard to care for. I think that they are the most easy to care for horses as far as coats go! Some curlies have the really fine crushed velvet feeling coat and then others have a slick smooth coat with just the curly mane and tail. And their coat in the winter repels ice and sleet and whatever else. They look like buffalo sometimes. My one mare does in the winter she gets so curly. lol Its hilarious! :D

I don't like them. They're not appealing to the eye and honestly look like horses suffering from cushings disease.
