Quarter Horse?

Does my horse look like a Quarter Horse? Or anything else?

Pardon the bad picture. I can never take a good one.

and the fact that he's horribly downhill. On level ground, he's not so bad.

He definitely could have some QH in him. That butt would surely agree, and he sort of has the stocky build.

He's a nice looking horse. What do you do with him?

BarrelWannabe 09-26-2011 04:13 PM

Why thank ya. At the moment, he's just a pleasure horse. I'm hoping to start working and learning barrels. But that's years away.

He definately looks like a Quarter Horse to me...even looks related to the Redford breeding lines (Reggie Redford was a red roan)and his body style, pretty clean throat latch and well developed hip almost screams of that particular line.
He is quite nice.

Where the heck did you find him BarrelWannabe???

I'm in OK and I bought him from an old trader.

Did that line tend to have a gooserump? He has a SHORT crop.

Can't make out her head. The neck isn't as thick as my mare's was, but the body certainly has a QH look to me. Robust and solid. My mare had a little bit of gooserump and that was 30-40 years ago.
Never did barrels, so I can't comment, but he'd probably work cattle well.

He's been roped and headed off of. He really sits in the box and hunts his cows. Most of all, he has a babydoll personality and the face of an angel. He just makes me think quarter horse everytime I look at him.
