Practical, yet frivolous
So my husband and I are getting a head start on our Christmas shopping while the getting it still good (and before the Nov-Dec slump in husband's job). I like to get my mom something practical for her pony business, but something that she wouldn't thin to get herself, so it still seems like a gift. Here are examples of what I've gotten her in the past:
Last year for Christmas, I got her a pink saddle rack, and a variety of pink horse stuff (brushes, hoof pick, etc) for her personal horse, Honey.
For her birthday, I got her a stool/ tack box combo (seen here Duratote Step Stool with Grooming Box - Horse.com) and I had a label printed with her logo on it to put on the side. That way she could take it to events so the, er, big kids can have a leg up, but she has a good place to stash the fly spray and brushes.
So. Does anyone have any ideas of things that I could get her this year? Maybe something that you didn't think about before, but now you can't imagine not having it. Thanks!
A fancy tack set? A custom bit or set of spurs?
Hmm. She might like a new tack set, but she doesn't go riding all that much... I'm thinking about a personalized halter for her horse, but I'd need something else, too.
What about a portrait of her horse? There are some fantastic artists hanging around the forum and you might be able to commission one of them to create a wonderful piece of art for your mother.
