Haha, I don't know. We were already DQd by then, anyway. I have no idea how that thing came off... it's a 1/2 inch too small and I have to take it off in between classes or I think I'd literally pass out. My forehead turns blue and everything!

Haha, mine is the same way. I haven't rode in it yet, because I just got it but it is pretty small I purposely got it small so it would stay on there. I am going to start training Gizmo this summer for reining. He has some really nice turns on him, just have to speed them up and work on his sliding stops. But I haven't even had him that long before we got snow so I haven't had the opportunity to canter or gallop him so he might have them I just don't know yet. But I love training so it should be fun.

Haha... Yeah, I borrowed mine from my trainer. When I get my own, it's going to be a little bigger and I'm going to put duct tape on the inside.

Good luck with training! It's a lot of fun

Duct tape works but I prefer really cheap hair spray. Works better then Duct tape if you ask me. That is what most of the people I know use.

Just spray your hair forehead and inside brim of your hat and put it on. You will need a tow truck to get it off.

Hair spray works ok, but for outside pens and a stiff breeze I use a bobby pin on each side in front of my ears...you pick up the inside band of the hat and a bit of hair. Turn the bobby pin so that the sticky out bit is into your head...hurts like heck, but works a treat! I've never had a hat come off doing this which just looks more professional.

And no you don't get penalized for it coming off, as long as you are wearing it when you enter the ring and retrieve it after.
