Question I want to start reining lessons?

I've been riding english and western pleasure for 7 years now and I've always loved watching reining. I really want to take lessons but I don't know much about it except that its like dressage but western. Is it easy to switch from english riding to reining? Do you know of any good trainers in or around NH that give lessons and maybe have a few horses for lease? I've read articles, watched videos, and even gone to a few shows and I think I really want to try it I just need a little help...

My friend and I have both gotten into reining-in the last year or so. It seems to be that here in the east it is difficult to find reining lessons. The only thing we have found is taking lessons from our trainers who are training our horses. Mine is local, since I don;t have a great prospect, hers is 3hrs away, in Pa. You might try looking at the NRHA site-as I recall they have a listing of trainers and such, and perhaps one would do lessons....

It is VERY different. And, it seems that many of the cues differ just slightly from trainer to trainer. It IS tons of fun tho.....so enjoy!

Yeah I checked their website and I found one trainer in NH but I'm not sure if he's reputable? I'll probably go to check it out and maybe learn the basics there before I travel too far away for higher level lessons. Thanks!
