cowboy hats?

George Strait has a 2,000-acre ranch someplace in south Texas which he inherited from his father, who raised George on the ranch after his parents divorced.

Yeah, he's a cowboy and a cattleman and all those other things ... I heard he sings a little bit now and then, too.

I have a Aussie hat, never looked good in a cowboy hat. A lot of the riders had Aussie riding hats. No cowboy hats.

So funny, I literally just had this conversation a few days ago about Mr. Straight. Where has he been all my life anyways?

I wear a 8x George Strait white/off white hat from local tack store every day. I have had it for 5 years now and it has been stomped on, rained on, snowed on, smashed, squashed and anything else.....its outta shape and probably a wreck, but I aint ready to depart with it. When I aint wearing it it sits on the dash in my duallie. Ya don't need an expensive hat even for everyday wear. My BF has offered to buy me a new one millions of times. Maybe when it quits doing its hat purposes I will consider. Getcha any hat ya want any color any shape (just not one of those kenney chesney jobs).

And King George is a cowboy, anything that wears wranglers like that I will call cowboy if it makes him happy! <3

And this gets us back around to wear we started ... wear whatever color hat you want.

But on a personal note, those scruffed up straw hats are skeevy ... and when did hideous 60s-style bat-wing curves on felt hats come back in?

I own a cheapy straw hat (working on getting a nicer, better shaped one), a cheapy black felt hat, and a cheapy brown felt hat.
Last night I discovered I own a $160 dollar platinum felt hat..and that I have had it for like 6 years.....whaaa?!
The black felt and the straw are my two show hats for the ranch horse shows. I am far from being a "cowboy" (mainly the BOY part lol) but heck. Everyone starts somewhere!:) Plus, the black hat is also my drill hat. I think black is quite snazzy looking and sharp...specially with a sparkly crown OMG SPARKLES!DD
The Brown felt is by far my favorite..the shape works really good for me, as does the brown since I have brown eyes:P I wear it everyday to work, and tend to dress it up with a flower like a lot of the girls at the shows do.

I wear a roper 6x stetson. Last time I wore it my horse grabbed it off my head and chewed on it......o_O

My best friends mom was at a barrel race and her horse got excited and bucked the way home, so she stopped him really quick and backed him up...right over her hat O.o The hat's top popped out and the horse was wearing it like a little bracelet
