Fund raiser for injured retired PRCA bull rider Jeff Stockton

Caught this on this week's PRCA media release and thought it might be of interest to some folks here ...

Quote:
A benefit is being planned to help former PRCA bull rider Jeff Stockton of Beulah, Colo., who suffered a traumatic brain injury on July 1 from a riding injury. As Stockton and the horse he was riding were crossing a log, part of the log jabbed the horse in the back leg, and the two of them went over backwards. Stockton hit his head and suffered a brain stem and frontal lobe injury; he was in a coma for 10 days. He knows whats going on and who everybody is, can squeeze your hand on cue and can move all extremities. He still cant walk or talk or even sit up on his own, but its coming, son Clint Stockton wrote in an Aug. 15 Facebook posting. A roping benefit will be held at 3 p.m. Sept. 8 at the E&B Roping Arena in Pueblo, Colo. The event will be $30/man drawpot roping and a $15/lady barrel race, with buckles to winners of both. Raffle items, auction items and a barbecue dinner will be offered at $6 a plate. For more information, call Bob or Tammy at 719.564.2884, or Ed at 719.564.1490 ...
So if you're down that way ...

I guess he's a popular dude. There's also a benefit bull riding scheduled Sept. 22 in Caon City.
