I was really disappointed in the team roping at the NFR this year. They're in such a hurry to win day money that they throw some really bad head loops — in fact, some of them were so bad this year they started making me think I'd have a chance.
The aggregate winners came in 57.50 seconds on nine head. So what if you decided to take one extra twirl before firing that head loop? Maybe you come in the low fives every night ... and you still place just about every night and you win the NFR aggregate because you're the only team ropers with a time on all 10 steers.
