New to break away

I want to do break away super bad. I'm doing all my homework before I go out and start swinging a rope around and start bad habits. A friend of mine taught me how to rope when I was really little. I got it down, but it was so long ago.

One- Where do I start? Youtube video suggestions?

Two- What rope do I need?

Three- This has to be the silliest question of all time. But- How do you get your rope back when you're competing and catch?!
