Talking proud mama brag post!

Roped and held a cow this morning on Squiggy! The cow had a bad case of the porcupine quills so we went out and dropped a couple loops on her! Squiggy has roped anything and everything in the branding pen, but riding 90mph in the pasture is a whole different story! Lol I let my dad (who was riding his heading horse in the making and Squiggys half sister) attempt to head the cow twice and he was sucking real bad so I ran up and roped her like I've pasture roped my whole life! Squiggy was a champ, pulled the cow out of the brush so paps could heel her, tripped the cow and worked the rope so mom could get at the quills. I ccouldn't be more impressed with my girl!

Needless to say, my parents were impressed as well. :)

It just felt awesome, I wqs following my dad just letting Squiggy lope and when dad missed and was building a new loop, I just rode up, stoop up, three swings and perfecto!!!!! It also helped that the coe happened to be a longhorn so catching horns was easyyyyy!!

Woot! Sounds like a heck of a fun day .

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I wanted pictures so bad! Especially because Squiggs and Harley are half sisters... I'd love to send a pic to the breeder of them working together!

I also found a bonus prize... came across a dead whitetails skull.... 5x5 and beautiful! I do have a photo of that. I must have looked comical though, carrying my rope and deer skull in one hand, and using the other to pick chokecherries on thr way back to the trailer! Haha

I only have the picture of the bonus prize in black n white cause the color photo uploaded sideways and I dunno if I can rotate it on my phone via photobucket.

It would have been cooler if I had gotten him with my whitetail tag this fall instead of finding him already cleaned up (save a few vertebrae).

Awesome! Sounds like Miss Squiggy is really coming around! Nice roping!

Nice find on the skull too, totally jealous!
I used to drag home some Elk sheds but I always wanted an Elk skull with a nice rack, like your buck...someday...
