What have you roped?

Was traveling early in truck in Fla. After Hurricane Andrew.Was on road with canal running on north side of me when down the road I spot what I thought at first was a gator.Upon getting closer I see its a Komodo dragon. I thought I could rope him/her take it to pet shop and make some $$$$$$$$$ for quick work . Pulled up within 100' of it get my rope from back seat of creww-cab.
I got pretty close to ropeing distance to it when it started hissing,slinging its tonge with v type fork on end.
I got to thinking let me get back in my truck before this thing gets a hold of me instead of me gettin a hold of him/her. Needless to say I let it be and lived to ride another day !

Bah ha ha ha ha!!!

The Komodo Dragon reminds me of another one. I have a friend in Arcadia, Florida who runs a catch crew. They were catching wild cows and ran across an alligator or crocodile (same thing to me). Anyway, he was on a big stout 3 year old that was Impressive bred and about 4/3rds crazy. So he ropes this gator (tied on hard and fast) and it starts doing the "death roll". It rolls its way right up in the saddle so my ole buddy steps off. The horse evacuated the area in a hurry with the gator on his back biting at him. 2 hours later they found the big colt dragging what was left of the Gator behind him.
