Saddle advice for a Peruvian paso

I need advice to fit a saddle for my Peruvian horse. Since they have shorter backs many western saddles impairs the shoulder which inhibits the gate. My budget is small. I haven't had any luck locally with advice since I live in quarter horse land. Please help.

Used arabian round skirt saddle may work. The arabian trees are a bit more generous. Round skirt barrel saddles, they are also made for more shoulder movement.

A woman can NEVER have too many horses.....

I trained a Peruvian Paso for a client, owner wanted to ride her in an Aussie saddle, had one fitted to her and that is what I used. I did ride her in an English saddle as well, I believe it was an older Barnsby.

I have Peruvians and I ride them in all kinds of saddles. Most Peruvians have a medium to narrow backs instead of the wide ones more common in QH and Arabs. You don't want a saddle that is to long but there are many saddles available that will fit.

I ride my paso in an assortment of saddles, but most of the time I ride her in an OLD close contact canadian trooper saddle or in a plantation saddle. My Tarpon hill trooper is also a pretty good fit on her.

Also when no one is looking Ill toss an old wintec on her.

We have a Paso/Icelandic cross pony at our farm and she goes in an endurance saddle (western saddle w/o a horn). We don't seem to have any issues fitting her.

I used to ride my Peruvian in traditional Peruvian saddle, I'm actually going to,recommend you to ebay and to a saddlery known as TN saddlery, I had a friend who purchased one of their saddles and they are excellent quality well worth twice the price. The saddle is completely made in the us so you don't have to worry about trees made out of India.

They have a nice selection of saddles, but their gaited saddles open up nicely in the front so that it doesn't restrict gaited shoulder movement.
