What do these dry spots mean?

So the last two rides I've suddenly noticed dry spots on my mare's back after our rides. The saddle has never left any dry spots before, only difference is testing a different pad. Would a pad be enough difference to cause any new dry spots? It's about the same thickness as my other one. And my other question, what do dry spots in these particular places mean? Is the saddle too wide? Too narrow? She has gained a little bit of weight and put on some more muscle.

Input is much appreciated!
