Any ideas on getting lineage info on AWS horse?

I bought a warmblood cross and the owner told me the dam was swedish warmblood. My horses registry is through a sport horse registry and it only has the dams name and a AWS number. If she's registered with the AWS (which I assume is the American Warmblood Society) then does that mean she's not really swedish warmblood? It doesn't change how I view my horse and her abilities but I love genealogy stuff and I want to know more about her dam but I can't find anything... Any ideas?

If you mares dam is a AWS Horse then please feel free to contact the AWS directly and request at least her pedigree information. You could also make inquiry to WHO and WHAT the sire is.

If you need any more help beyond the above suggestion please feel free to message me here or email me and I will put you in touch with the right person at AWS to find out. The director will be here in VA in just 2 weeks as we are hosting a AWS Inspection.

Regarding your mare if she is a SWB, even if her breeding really is (could be) if she has not been presented and inspected to be included in their registry technically she is not even if her breeding says otherwise :( It gets a bit complicated. For what its worth we do have a SWB mare here in foal to our Purebred Arabian stallion who just happens to be AWS Approved/Registered/Accepted for breeding Confused yet LOL

Thank you for your info. I'll contact AWS. It really is just curiosity for me. I'll love her the same either way =)

If you can give me the horses registered name or sires/dams AWS registered name, I will be glad to ask for you. The director will be here Friday next week for our Saturday Inspection.

Just let me know ~

You know it was so much less complicated to me when I had Arabs...

But, that would be great. My horse (My Serenity) is registered with the Friesian Sport Horse Registry but her dam is "Persephone" AWS 980226. That is all the info I have on her dam. Her sire is a Friesian names Raven (He has a website and I have a lot of info on him). Thank you so much!
