I only just saw this so sorry for reviving what maybe on the verge of a zombie thread.
I do a bit with IDHSNA, and breed RIDSH. I see him listed in the approved Stallion registry but I'm not familiar with him. In his lines I don't see any names that stand out, except for Pride of Shaunlara. While this a great name, is also very common RID Stallion. He has a similar look face in the and reminds me a lot of Ollie [Manu Forti's Touch Down RID] despite not being related.
As far as his conformation, he has a nice neck and solid bone. However I don't like the depth of his barrel (I would want a deeper heart girth), and his loin is deceptively inadequate, due to his weak hind end. Basically heís very long, his front and back donít match. He ideally should be more " square" than rectangle, and the hind end should be more muscled.
However if the TB has a big A$$ and is already too compact, hey it might wash out.
Thereís only one picture of him trotting but I donít like his tracking it in. Also they donít list any awards, or the level he is training at, or even the discipline he performs in. Thereís no EOY Breed Awards, no USDF, USEF, USEA, PHR or external local groups awards.
They acknowledge the Stud Fee is low is b/c he hasnít proven himself as a stud, but there still should be some reason to convince you to breed with him other than working testicles, and Iím not sure if 17.2 height is worth it.
I would ask for his wins, or a list of awards, and depending on what heís won, as well as the faults you are looking to minimize with the TB and decided on that.
Irish Draught Sport Horses are awesome horses, and when it comes to the stud fee, a couple hundred dollars and choosing a different Stallion that may balance your mare better, might be worth it. Especially considering the cost of AI, after all of the ultra sounds, and shipping costs, container rental fees followed by a year of waiting, it could be worth the extra cost.
Bridon Belfrey, Manu Forti's Touch Down, Mountain Pearl are all good stallions.
I myself bred to Snowford OíDonnell in 2011, he has a legion of followers who want his foals. This year I am breeding to Touch of the Blues.
