Agreed with above. The breeding that creates a great teenaged TB racehorse is too complicated for most of us to understand. If the breeders and trainers could do it, there would be a monopoly in the industry, since it is never a "sure thing."
Still, "Bold Ruler" descendants have always been pretty remarkable. So...congratulations.

Most tb's are related to famous racers. Secritariat sired over 600 horses so I don't find it that incredible that she's related to him unless it's in the first 2 grnerations.

You have a bit to brag about with this girl's pedigree Honestly I find the other horses on her papers are just as interesting if not more than secretariat, even though he does hold his own!

Nearctic was a pretty decent racehorse bred in Canada later moving to Maryland. He was inducted in the Canadian Racing Hall of Fame. He sired the famous Northern Dancer who is also on her papers. He shows up four times on the pedigree of a horse you may have heard of. Big Brown. So that shows how common it is for big name horses to show up on a lot of TBs papers.

Dixieland Band is out of Northern Dancer. He is the damsire of a really cool thoroughbred Street Sense who has a lot of git racing currently! One just took 4th in the Belmont Stakes- Street Life! Then of course we cant forget that DB produced Dixie Union! Dixie Union produced this years Belmont winner Union Rags!

Other horses we cant forget are Storm Cat, Alydar and Icecapade! Sorry I have a fascination with thoroughbreds. Although I am not always a big supporter of how somethings are done in the racing industry, I have always followed it and taken the time to learn about a lot of horses!

My OTTB mare is related to secreteriat but isn't one of his babies and that is remarkable in my opinion. She is actually is related through his dam and is the gr gr grandaughter of bold ruler through Cornish Prince....
I just rescued her this month I wasn't planning on getting back into horses after my other TB mare died suddenly two years ago at the age of 10. She was the great grandaughter of native dancer and raise of native... very closely inbred... Maybe thats why she saw monsters in every shadow, chair, strange horse, leaf, bug, rock, lol the list goes on; however she taught me a lot. I went from a laid back Azteca who required leg all the time to keep moving forward to a thoroughbred that constantly felt like bolting at any sudden movement.

Interesting thread. The barn I worked and rode at in college had a mare that was the granddaughter of War Admiral :) She was one GORGEOUS girl.

I looker her up on Pedigree Query (I find it easier to read) and it said her career earnings were $ 42,663.

I met one of Secretariat's grand daughters and she was beautiful!

The blood lines with your horse make me very jealous. She is a looker! And she looks like she has a sweet personality. :)

I swear every Thoroughbred I come across is related to mine. It's kind of scary. I almost adopted a great grandson of Secretariat and Halo instead of Reno (then I was told that he was still available for adoption and I was happy). Reno doesn't have Secretariat in his pedigree, but he does have Princequillo back there so Big Red is a cousin. He's also first cousins with Barbaro (I think they look eerily similar...but that's just me).

Pretty much all of Reno's barn buddies had amazing horses in their lines as well. Toga/Oberon (JC, Toga Race) was a great great grandson and he also had Bold Ruler in his pedigree at least three times. Sweetie (JC Oh Banner Waive) was a great great granddaughter to both Princequillo and War Admiral (and G3 granddaughter to War Admiral as well on her dam's side). I love how they're all related somehow or another.

Ooh, she does have some nice lines! And she is very pretty:)

My best friend and her mother's old mare (had to be put down suddenly in early 2011) was such a Secretariat look-alike that she was going to be used in the movie! However her ginormous withers (from a field accident when she was a yearling) took her out:/
