RPSI registry is a quality registry, with many quality stallions. I will say many consider the registry a slight step down compared to say the weight of AHS or GOV compared to the mares that they will inspect in and what the papers stand for... but for the most part they are very rigid on inspections and it is a good registry particularly compared to the joke of AWS.

She is a grade mare. You can't change that. Her foal's value would be much less than a standard RPSI foal from just paper alone. On pictures she is significantly lighter in bone than for Arabs that they would enter in and has some conformation faults that may not be ideal- IMHO.

it was just something put on the table. im aware of what a grade is i have 5 of them. im thinking more for in hand showing. she has no showing option here since she is not a registered arab. open shows will place minis higher than ANY and ALL Arabs in the class because of stock horse judging.

Strictly speaking a Sport Horse is supposed to be one that's suitable for dressage, show jumping, eventing or combined driving in the FEI sense.
I think the US is one of the only countries that's bending the meaning or intention of the registry and calling hunt seat 'show' horses sport horses
If an Arabian is going to be eligible to be approved then it has to be registered and look as if they're the sort that would produce a sport horse

i probably wont go for it. i have seen a few for sale on clist hence why i wanted to know if it was a quack registry or not (there are plenty out there). Dont plan on breeding my mare as she is older. cant ride her because she is not riding sound but in hand showing she is good. Just was looking around at what i could do with her our our gelding and came across this.

not that i can find. i show open shows because non of the horses are currently registered (working on the pinto). everything is open (more stock horse) shows and breed shows. the only one for Arabs that is an open show is almost 3 hours away from me so not going to happen for just a cuple of fun in hand classes sadly :(

The ONLY PURPOSE to get her inspected with RPSI would to be as a potential broodmare being bred to a RPSI stallion so that foals would have a pedigree paper. She wouldn't get a RPSI registry paper if she was approved, only a approval sheet for foal registration purposes. It wouldn't serves the purpose you would want... Plus even IF she got RPSI papers... (Which she can't because she is not out of an approved mare and stallion), the main places those can be use in-hand are for foals at breed shows. Big $$ and Arab crosses typically don't place as well in those. Mine needed to grow up more and be undersaddle before anyone warmblood breeders would look at my 25-50% Arab/warmblood and then they did great. Even though they earned their premiums just fine at keur.

Listen, I have Arabs and have been showing against QHs locally my entire life. If you show against them, they are probably going to win. Because many judges have bias. I have shown my regional champion stallion against an obvious club footed monster and still lost. But I won the class in my head, and my horse came for some experience in the busy ring later in the day. So you either deal with not winning or you don't play. You dress nicely, you groom your horse as if you were presenting it at nationals, and you make sure that they are trained well. That is all you can do. Papers won't change that. Judge bias won't change that. And sometime, your horse doesn't have the best conformation in the ring. And that is ok too.

im not here to get schooled on showing. i was asking weather this registry was something to even look at. and according to the registry THEMSELVES she COULD be registered in the Pre Mare book IF i decided to go for it though i know she likly would not pass inspection. i was more asking out of curiosity.

and the last time i showed with a stock horse judge he felt the need to get IN my mares space, he spent more time looking at her and felt the need to not only put a mini behind her but he wanted to look at her teeth (he also placed her last). he put a mini behind my friends gelding and it flipped him out (minis have their own class so thats another can of worms). my gelding is doing fine in the classes but he is a pinto stock horse.

i stopped showing her because of this and my friend who has shown for 20 years also stopped showing the gelding for the same reason

With my GOV inspected Arabian mare, she was entered into the MMB(main mare book) as an approved mare, but she was not registered because she was not a GOV ( Oldenburg), but her babies would be. RPSI should be the same way, I don't think you will get a registry paper. Only an approval sheet. But maybe because you are going into a lower premare book as a grade mare it is different.

What would RPSI papers accomplish for you that any other cheap papers won't? You still won't know her birthdate, parentage, and won't be able to show at different shows. If you aren't going to breed her and just want to show her inhand, what would papers ( besides Arabian) change for you?
