I agree, it just seems to me that she is curious about the well being of a horse she sold. Not really demanding and being intrusive. It also sounds like if the horse was in a position that needed help she would offer to buy it back.
I don't think it is a bad idea to be curious about a horse you have sold, unless you are being demanding and intrusive, but it does not seem like you are. It just seems as if you are curious.
