    17" close contact

I'm selling a Nice brand, close contact saddle with a 17" seat, a 4" gullet, and probably a medium tree. Nice (French brand, pronounced "niece") Saddlery was bought out by HDR a few years back, so the HDRs are the closest modern equivalents.

It's in decent condition, but could use some oil. It's not unsafe, cracking or super hard. It just needs some love, as it doesn't fit my wide horse so it has only been used sparingly over the past 6 years. I have owned it for 13 years.

There is some minor cosmetic wear, but the tree and billets are in good shape, and it's still show worthy! It's held up very well for me and has many years left in it.

I'm asking $300 only because it's an uncommon brand. I have seen others of the same brand and model and in similar condition selling for $300-$500 online and in local tack shops. The saddle is very sturdy and well made, so it's a good value for the price!

I am located in central PA and am willing to negotiate a trial period.

This saddle is still available! Don't miss out on a great deal! The price is right for a starter saddle, or for someone looking for a spare saddle or to get into some English riding without spending a lot of money. This saddle is safe, and well constructed. It will last a long time. The 17in seat and medium tree mean it's likely to fit an average-sized horse and rider. :)

The bottom of the stirrup bar to the bottom of the flap measures 13 inches.

I will be taking more photos this weekend. The current photos were taken indoors in low lighting, and do not do the saddle justice. I will include photos with a tape measure to help any interested buyers visualize the dimensions of the saddle. :)

I also want to add that most saddles seen for sale these days have knee rolls and padded flaps, which force the rider's leg into a correct position and allow learning riders to learn to brace on the blocks and knee rolls instead of learning to position their own leg and balance. This was my first saddle because my riding instructor wanted me to have a plain flap to learn to correctly place my leg on my own. If you are looking for a saddle for yourself or another rider who is learning English, this (or another like it) would be a wonderful saddle to invest in.
