GPA Helmets

I've been trying to google this topic and do some research but haven't gotten too far. Does anyone on this forum know if you have to replace your GPA helemts after a fall. I purchased mine because I do alot of trailriding and wanted something really safe to protect the old head. Lucky for me I've had it because even with this "ultra" helmet I've had a concussion from a fall. But I was under the impression that titanium was indestructable and I could keep on riding in this helmet. I'm 58 and am told by a Dr. That if I get another concussion I won't ride for a year. Not that I plan to fall off anytime real soon but we all know it's a possiblity. I called Dover Saddlery and can replace the GPA but it requires alot of rigamorole (I'll have to drive 80 miles to their store just to find out if they have a record of the sale) and it is still $150 to replace! They don't make it easy for all the money you put out for these helmets. $500 to $600 isn't easy, especially in this economy. I'm even thinking of a different helmet but want to be well protected. I've continued to use the GPA for a long time after that fall. Any info is appreciated. Em

You should replace any helmet after a bad fall with an impact to your head. On top of that you should replace your helmet every 5 years even if you have never had a fall in it. The inside of your helmet could have severe damage to it without you knowing from the original fall. If you were to fall again and hit your head, the protection from your helmet could be compromised because of any damage not visible to you. I would seriously consider a new helmet. $150 is not that much compared to medical bills you could have or even worse. Your head is your most precious body part. Take good care of it.
