I do good in school I am currently a 4.9 student. I struggle with keeping friends though cause I am so shy. It sounds dumb I know I know but I just want to make a difference I just want to try. I don't want to be the one people its the work I put into for the animals that I want recognized. And sorry about grammar I have a small syndrome of dislexic I mix up words with other words instead of numbers and words. Sorry its super annoying I don't notice it until after I reread something. Also if I spell something wrong its cause I probably did it on purpose. And k just communicate with the website people they could give you better info about it then me im just tryin to help them out. Also did you guys here about the big fire in herriman, utah? That affected them. The place didnt get burnt down but the horses were evacuated

Our point is that there are a LOT of people and places who claim to be a rescue but are really "flippers" or hoarders. A true rescue will seek out 501 status. There are many MANY cases of the flippers or hoarders begging for "donations" and people will usually give. In this economy, if I am going to donate, I want to know EVERYTHING I can about the rescue as well as their 501 status.

And sorry about the grammar thing but it's just something that bugs the daylights out of me for some reason.

So your school offers AP classes in EVERY subject and your making A's in all of them?

High schools generally only offer AP classes in a small variety of classes and only have GPA's that go to 4.0

If not, then they're not a rescue, they're just someone who wants other people to foot the bill for their horses.

If they are a 501c3, then I'd like to see their website, their financials, and their mission statement. All legitimate rescues must provide this information to potential donors.

As for yourself, buy your tack like the rest of us do. Begging over the interwebz may not be illegal but it's tacky, immoral, and ethically questionable.
Ditto to this...I can 'donate' tack locally if I have a friend who is desperate, but to ship out tack to someone who has no proof they are a rescue? No thanks...

Last time I checked dyslexia does not prevent you from using punctuation and capitalization.

    4.9gpa out of what?

It is great that you want to help horses. Really. Please ask the rescue owner about their 501c3 status.

Oh my gosh give the girl a break. Anyways Kaydeebug all they are asking is to get more info to have proof that they are a rescue. They don't need to ship free items to you just so you can have items for the rescue. So get the contact information and put it on here and then we can all go from there. Other then that I have no need in this topic :)

    Kaydeebug,

I know you're probably feeling picked on and beaten up a little, so I wanted to post that I, and probably a lot of the other folks here, do understand that your heart's in the right place and your intentions are good. If we had first hand experience with this rescue you work with; we would probably feel as strongly about it as you do.

However, this is the internet. We don't know you, and we don't know anything about this rescue except what you post. So far, based on what's been posted, I would not be willing to support this organization.

Second, posting this plea for donations while also posting sale ads for tack of your own raised the obvious question of why you're not donating *your* tack to the rescue. That's a big credibility problem.

Third, while nit picking people's spelling, grammar and posting style may seem petty, I truly have had trouble understanding a couple of your posts. (And no, I'm not just talking about "veil crow" for Velcro, there are a couple of posts in *this thread* that I just don't know what you're trying to say.) Not being able to make yourself clearly understood makes you a less credible advocate.

Finally, to everyone else - let's take a break and give the OP time to collect her thoughts and post again. Everything that needs to be said about the credibility of the rescue, 501(c)3 status and posting style has been said at least twice.

No need to continue to play "pile on the rabbit."

How 'bout we give this poster a break and give her an opportunity to post something in her defense?
