Okay, so I have a wide range I'm looking for. I need a 15.5 to 16" seat. Year doesn't matter as long as it's in good shape, would like to try to stick to brands I know, but always willing to look elsewhere! I need a saddle that's good for trails and some gaming if I wanted to. Looking for any style as long as it's WESTERN. Styles like the park and trail, wade, barrel etc would be great trying to stay away from roping saddles, they're so heavy and wide for me! Would like to stay at $600 or under unless it's what I really want in a saddle!
I have this saddle, it's old, I've had it for about 14 years but it's been well taken care of. The horse who it fit has been retired for about 6 years so the saddle has been sitting since then and it doesn't fit the new(well we've had him 2.5 years lol) horse. I believe it's made by American saddlery but it doesn't have a makers mark on it, only a model number. Years ago when I was trying to find the make I saw a very similar saddle on American saddlery's website, but I can no longer find it.
The saddle has stirrup hobbles on it now, they don't match perfectly tho. It's a 16" seat and I'm asking $400 but I'm very very negotiable as it's taking up a lot of space in my house lol I'll even include the girth which has only seen a horse twice! I think it's a 34" but I'll have to measure to be sure
This is in vg condition. Solid Ralide tree. 28lbs max. Looks better in person than in the pic. The leather is a darker richer color. $450. Ship from Canada is about $95 by priority. Parcel post may be cheaper but could take a month. I have other pics 16" se
At this point he's still growing, so it's kind of up in the air. He's in FQHB now with my corriente, but I do have an older barrel saddle that's SQHB and fits.
SO, depending on the brand it could go either way! Thanks for asking.
Annanoel, I think you are dealing with saddle trees from two different makers. The Ralide trees are consistant in their sizing and many mfg use them. Fiberglass trees will fit differently as will rawhide covered trees, and the wood tree reinforced with fiberglass. And then there are the asian trees......
What do you have? I just like the extra room, lol. I'm always tempted.
Saddlebag -- I though I knew saddles and you lost me! I knew trees were made with different materials, but didn't realize each material so to speak had thier own sizing. :?
Annanoel, that's what drives people nuts when trying to find a saddle that fits fairly well.
