Sadly, I am having to sell my favorite-est saddle ever. :(

It's super comfy. I have never been sore after riding in it. It has an equitation style seat so it helps you get into the correct position right off the bat - no reminding yourself to keep your legs under you because this saddle makes it the most comfy place for them to be!

It's well oiled and I will clean it extra good before I send it out.

The seat is 15 inches, it has a 7 inch (I think) gullet, SemiQH Bars, and an older A-frame style tree.
I've had it on TB's and narrow ponies and it fit great.
The front half has also fit great on my wide shouldered Polish bred Arab (aka "Wide Cow"), it's just that the angle of the back half is all wrong for her. So if you have a narrow backed Arab (maybe Egyptian bred?), this might be the saddle for you. It might fit gaited horses well too. I'm not sure though.
Basically, this saddle should fit well on pretty much anything with wide shoulders, a steep shoulder angle, and a narrow back.

It will come with a cinch and stirrup keepers.

I'm asking $220 shipped (shipping will probably cost $40ish dollars).

I'm also open to trades for a child's saddle (a 12 inch seat would be good) with QH bars, but I would only accept trades from established forum members and/or people with a stellar seller rating thing. If you go this route, I don't need a pretty child's saddle, it just has to have some use left in it.

Paypal is preferred but other payment methods are accepted.

Thanks!

Also, these pictures aren't the best. I can get better ones if a very interested party would like.

Thanks Gidget! I love it too. :)

Also, I don't want to trade for a kid's saddle anymore. I was actually given one by some older people I know. Well, loaned but when I asked about bringing it back to them they said "We'll call you, we'll probably never need it back"... so...Yay! haha

But, I'm still open to offers and I'm willing to trade if you have something I need. It is unknown what I need, but if you want to trade, shoot me a pm and maybe I need it. haha

Anyway:

BUMP!!!!

:D

I'm interested in your saddle. Free shipping?
I had a saddle like this in the 70's only it was more all purphase and had a 16' seat. Don't know the make but it looks like your Big Horn. My Quarter horse has an average back and rather narrow around the withers. If it has at least a 6-7 inch gullet, it should fit him. What would you take for the saddle?
Yep! Shipping is free. :)

I think it has a 7 inch gullet, not entirely sure but I can measure it later this afternoon and let you know. :)
I'd like to get $220 for this saddle.

Hmmm. If only I had a horse to fit this saddle, I'd snap it up! Unfortunately just about anything I ride is some sort of stock horse. Darned QHs and their as you put it; 'wide cow' bodies ;)

Well....you know that TB your barn got? Maybe he really "needs" a new saddle??

Also, jeaeschliman, the gullet -from front concho to front conch- is 7 inches. :)

xDD he does, actually. Without knowing for sure that it would fit him though, I really don't see them going for it. And he's such a hard fit...he gives me a headache. I've heard the term 'TB withers' but my gosh are his high ._. seems like no matter what saddle (we have almost 20 to choose from) I use, it doesn't fit somewhere!

I might just have to make up a reason to need that saddle though. It's absolutely gorgeous, even if it is a tad big for me xD

It depends on said TB's shoulder angle. If he/she has a steep angle but large shoulders, I'd think it would fit, if he/she is more broad/flatter large shoulders, I'm not sure. :(

Also, just information about this saddle, the horse that this fit through the shoulder area fits into a wide gulleted english/Aussie saddle. Maybe that'll help someone. :)

Pm'd you. :)

Oh my gosh my friend had this saddle when I was a kid and I was so jealous! Love your saddle but after having to pay a $1300 truck repair bill yesterday, I am not going to be buying anything for a long time :(
Sad day! It is a great saddle! I dearly love it.

Hello,
I remember admiring pics of your saddle when you first got it. I have a saddle I would like to trade for it. It is a western style and fit, but hornless and 3/4 rigged. It is maker marked on the latigo keeper The Rider and has numbers on it. I just put pics onto photobucket of it and will try to put the pics here.

The left front of the pommel looks pinched at the corner like maybe a horse bit it. I tried to show it in the last pic. I did have the pics rotated on my computer but they went sideways when I put them on photobucket, sorry. Not so good with computers here.

Thanks
Ann

Thanks everybody! I loved it too. I wish I could have kept it but it just didn't fit Lacey and I really needed the money. :(

Annanoel, I actually bought it off a member on here a couple years ago. I think I remember her saying that she bought it at a tack sale from someone who found it in a deceased relative's attic.
I know what you mean, I loved how it was like "BAM! I'm old AND flashy! Take that world!"
I've seen similar ones online, like on ebay and such, every once in a while. Actually, I got curious and just did a search for "vintage big horn saddle" and this one came up:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
Talk about gorgeous!!!
