Vintage Mounted Police Halter Bridle

Hey all! This is a vintage mounted police halter bridle, bought at a government auction for $120 (I believe). If you'd like, make an offer :)

That's really nice! Do you have an idea as to how much you would like to get for it?

I suppose I had hoped to get at least half what I paid for it for all of it (halter bridle, bit, reins sets), because I didn't get to use it or anything - I ended up buying it and putting it in storage, which was entirely disappointing.

Can you possibly measure it? I would like the noseband measurement (on the largest setting), the measurement across the poll (from the noseband, up and over the poll to the other side of the noseband), and the length of the cheek pieces and bit pieces. Sorry to be so picky, but my three-year-old draft cross has an insanely hard-to-fit, monstrous head. We're kind of halfway between a warmblood/OS and draft-sized bridle and halter.

However, your halter/bridle looks like it will fit him and looks like it's in great condition. I've been looking for one, but can really only find the cheap made-in-India ones on eBay. If the measurements are right, I'd like to buy yours (it'll be a couple of weeks...have to get my first paycheck from my new job). Any idea what the shipping would be to zip code 86305?

If you have a draft cross, I don't know that it will fit - I also have a draft cross, and it doesn't fit. I can get it on her head, but the cheek pieces don't' reach her mouth, and I have to cram her ears a bit. Then again, she might have a bigger head than yours, too. Anyways - the measurements are:

Around the noseband, measured on the inside: Approx. 28 inches

Front edge of noseband, around poll to front edge of noseband, measured around the inside: Approx. 44.5 inches

Cheek pieces - measured from the end of the loop to the inside of the end of the buckle: 12 inches

Browband (only the part that would touch the horse's brow, not including the attachment area), measured on the inside: 12 inches

The bit is a 5.5 inch

I measured each a few times, but given the nature of it all give or take a half inch. And asking for measurements isn't being picky, it's being a smart shopper! I didn't really do any measurements, and look where it got me! And I'm not sure about shipping. When it was shipped to me, it was around 16 dollars. 'll likely just ship it $10 anywhere in the country.

Darn it! Yeah, that would be WAY too small for my boy. We need a 29" noseband, 48" bit to bit and a 16-18" browband (he can do a 16", but he's more comfortable in an 18"). He got the big 'ol Percheron head.
