The saddle that I thought I was going to be getting fell through so I am looking for a saddle for around 450 dollars (I know this is going to be hard). I am looking for either an HDR advantage or pro, a stubben, or a county. Must be in good condition, and be a medium or regular tree and between 17-18 inch seat.
I found a basically new HDR for sale on tack trader, so decided to pay her for her time and get the used HDR that was half the price of a new. Well a week later I haven't heard back from the seller after agreeing on a price and shipping details.
She said an HDR advantage because they have a more curvey tree, personally they look as straight as any other tree, she also said to make sure the saddle was wool flocked not foam. She indicated that some of the newer stubbens have a more curve tree, and I just added the county to my list because my trainer has a wb mare built similiar to rocket backwise and rides her in a county just fine.
And it wasn't anything that Lynnda did, I was trying to buy this saddle from a private seller, but they wanted me to send the money snail mail and I wanted to do paypal in case something went wrong my money would be slightly protected. They clamed up when I said that and asked what email to send it to.
I am also a little weary of Lynnda because she obviously wants to sell me a saddle and two of the brands she carries are HDR and stubben, and I am looking at these HDRs and they look just as flat as any other saddle. I emailed trumbull mountian tack since they deal with all brands of saddles and people at the barn have had really good experiances with them helping out. Hopefully they will be able to give me a second opnion.
I have an older style - in excellent condition corbette stylist for sale. It is a 17" seat close contact saddle. Dark havana in color. Can sell with courbette leathers / stubben irons or without. (medium tree)
$400 with leathers and irons
Saddle is too big for my boney butt :) (scuff marks on flap are cleaned off - it was needed some oil)
