What size gullet is currently in it? I loved my Wintec Close Contact and the only reason it didn't fit Bourbon was because it didn't have enough wither clearance. Do you think this would fit a TB with shark fin withers? Are you willing to negotiate on the price?

Oh and do you have a photo from the back so I can see the panel shape?

The medium gullet is currently in it. My horse is a TB/Paint and while I wouldn't call his withers shark fins exactly, it'd be pretty close and this saddle fits him perfectly. I tried the narrow and wide gullets on him when I first got the saddle to see which was best and the medium won.

I'll be at the barn tomorrow afternoon and can take a picture of the back.

I can't really negotiate- with the saddle, girth, leathers, and irons I spent over $600. I'm only selling because I was given a new jumping saddle and have no use for an all purpose. If I weren't already taking a loss on this one I definitely would though!

Great, I look forward to the picture! Thanks for answering all my questions. :) If you don't mind, would you also take a picture of your horses withers so I can compare them to Bourbon?

No problem! I'll have them up tomorrow evening. Have you tried a wither relief half pad? At my old barn I rode a horse that had shark fins like none other and I used a Roma wither relief half pad over my regular full pad and it made a world of difference.

Hmm I've never tried one. How exactly do they work?

It lifts the saddle in the front so there is relief on the withers and the saddle doesn't rub. You might try that before buying a new saddle. I don't usually like to try to solve saddle fit issues with pads and gimmicks but especially with wither conformation it can be hard to find a saddle that fits perfectly with no extra help.

I sold my Wintec already. My other saddle is much too wide for him, so I need a new saddle either way. Thanks for explaining to me how with wither pads work!
