I am shopping around for a nice, used English Saddle. I would like for the saddle to be a Collegiate, as those seem to fit me best. I woul also consider a Corbette. NO HDR or cheap brand saddles (Silver Fox, etc.) I don't really like HDR as in they are not comfortable, nor do they put me in a solid position. I'm open to the option for a Stubben or other type, as long as I can reasearch them, and see them as quality.
The saddle will obviously have to be used in my price range, which is an absaloute max of $600 for the *perfect* saddle. I will be showing in this saddle, so no really obvious mess ups, but something on the seat, or a scratch in the leather on the bottom isn't a big deal. I'd like to only have cosmetic issues, please. If the leather is dry, or you haven't used the saddle in a while, that's really not a big deal :) I can re-oil stuff ;)
Now for measurements! I am a 17", and Cowboy is actually pretty flexable. Right now I have him in a Medium-Wide tree with a regular saddle pad, along with a sheepskin contour pad, and that fits fine. A regular medium tree would probably do without the sheepskin, but I think a Medium-Narrow would be too small.
Thank You!! :)
