Perhaps a DRM issue there. Itunes uses a DRM to keep the copyright issues aside.

Try converting the music into another format and run it. It might recognise the files.

Additionally, if you could explain a bit further what exactly happened and what is happening right now might give some idea. Perhaps a screenshot or two would help greatly to see the errors.

Yes! I agree, they are expensive however they are good machines. Good idea, look on ebay and make sure everything comes with it.

Specially ask the seller,

1: What is the battery life on it?
2: Does it have original charger with it?
3: Any issues with screen? Dead pixel etc
4: Is it using Dual OS? XP and Mac?
5: Any other issues with the laptop? What is the shipment charges?

Sometimes ebay sells things more expensive then market, so watch out for those kind of things.

Some people sell £2 worth of stuff, showing it as £1000s worth and says only for £350. So make sure you know what you are buying from there.

I went and had a look at computers/laptops yesterday afternoon... From looking, I think I might do as you said, jehanzeb and go with a computer instead of a laptop. I'm looking at the iMac 20", which is a bit more in my price range for what I want.

Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.

I'll try to get some screenshots of it tonight. Basically I installed the new version of itunes for my new ipod. It worked fine, located all the music on my computer, and played that all ok. I then sat down one weekend and started to copy all of my CD's into Itunes. I ran really slowly. I shut it for the day, and went to go back in the enxt day to continue and that's when I got the error message. It won' open at all, just the error message.

Did you forcefully stopped it or was it "cancelled"? If it was forcefully (from Task manager) then it seems it has corrupted and hence you are not getting it to work.

I would suggest to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it again however this time when you uninstall you should check the folder and delete the itunes folder. Mind you that will delete all the settings you had before.

Reinstall and then try it. Additionally screenshots would speak alot better then words so would be really helpful to see one or two shots as well.

As far as iMac is concern, any website links or model you are looking at? We can compare the specs, translate technical language into english and see if that suits your needs.

Ugh, we had big computer issues over the weekend. Apparently we got a trojan virus in an email and our internet was down for about 4 days. So I haven't got screen shots yet, will try to do it soon. I'm soping once i'm running iTunes on a mac, I won't have so many problems.

Ok. I went to the mall and talked to a guy at JB-HiFI about the computers and what would eb best for me... He suggested I go with the 20" iMac with the most storage, and additionally buy a 650 gig external harddrive to store the music on to keep the computer running fast. This is the link to the computer: iMac - Apple Store (Australia)
I'm looking at getting this one:
20-inch: 2.66GHz

Plus the external harddrive, it isnt an apple one, it costs about $200.

Thoughts?

Hello,

You mean $2000 . It seems alright though I think you should add a 500GB for extra $70. Hard drives aren't expensive these days and 2GB Memory is more then enough. Although, Mac is far expensive then a normal pc however it is far better as well.

I think this is fine, providing you have searched other places to get it a bit cheaper.

The external hard drive he suggested was $200.

My mum is putting it through her union shopping service to get the best price, not sure what they will come up with.

Here is the error message I get when I try to open iTunes.

I tried to delete it this morning so I can reinstall it later, but it won't allow me to delete iTunes Resources, it says the disk is either full or write protected, or somehting like that. I can't wait to have a new computer!!!!

Go to 'My Music' on your computer. Check to see if there's a folder there marked 'iTunes'. This folder contains information about your iTunes library, as well as the music files themselves.

If you believe everything you read, better not read.
