Any computer savy people?

I can't watch videos with my laptop anymore. I've never been able to watch HD vids with this laptop but now I can't watch anything.
The day before yesterday it was working fine, then yesterday I tried watching an episode of Castle on megavideo and it was very (arghhh...can't think of the word, but it was slow...like it stopped every second for like a millisecond...what's the word?????). So I tried watching something else, and the same thing happened. Then I tried watching my own videos, but they did the same. Then I restarted my computer and tried editing a video of me riding, but the same again. I deleted a bunch of stuff (vids, pics, etc.) to clear up some space, but it didn't help. :(
I tried again today and still can't watch anything
Help? I watch almost all of my fave tv shows online....

Alright...I feel horrible having to say this. But, I asked my fiance who's a major computer geek, and he said considering your problem happens outside of a web browser, to fix this, you will need to reinstall your entire operating system. If it happens just in a web browser, it'd mean flash broke, but, because it happens in any video application, you need a system reinstall to fix whatever has broken. Video card drivers, etc.

S**t...It's not really my computer. It's my aunts. She borrowed it to us after mine broke and we can't afford to buy a new one. CRAP CRAP CRAP!

You ever reinstalled the operating system before? That's all you need to do, it *should* fix the problem.
What type of computer is it by the way? HP? Dell? Gateway? And what system does it have on it? XP, Vista or Windows 7?

Will it delete everything? Like programs like PS and stuff? Because if it does, then I'm screwed because I'm not allowed to uninstall anything because it's her work laptop.

If you don't back everything up and save it elsewhere, yes you will lose whatever is saved.

Well, hm. I'd recommend telling your aunt the situation first off, if you haven't already. And go from there.

I'm still talking to my guy about it, he's still looking into the problem. So if you'll hang in there, I can see what other helpful info or suggestions besides reinstalling, I can give you, alright? =)

I just noticed that I can watch YT videos just fine (except not in HQ or HD but never have been able to) but they just take longer to load.

Well simple problems like slow video loading, can be caused by youtube's video host servers being incredibly busy or other various issues and might not even be being caused by your computer. Have you cleared your cache on your web browser? That *might* help with the slow video load time.

Are you connecting over WiFi and is the laptop plugged in or are you running on a battery? When you say you tried watching your videos, were these on the hard drive or on a website?
