HELP! locked out of my iPod!

So today I was trying to send emails with my ipod touch and it wasnt working and so I turned it off then on and a word passcode thing came up- and I never had a passcode. I have looked up how to get around it and every thing is saying to restore it but I really really don't want to... is there any other way to get around it?????

You can try checking the Apple website. They have a pretty good help section.

If you do restore it, you won't lose any data. It will just restore your settings.

Good luck!

Settings are things like your wallpaper, formats, notification settings and such.

Don't have my iphone or ipad nearby, but I think if you open up app store from it, you can go to the updates section and theres an option to download all the apps you've purchased/had before. Haven't done it in like over a year but pretty sure that's what I did

I only had a few apps and I really only used 2 so its not a huge loss :) that and this is an older model so it doesnt have the newer features like the newer ones
