Yep! With a Telus phone you can put the SIM card right in and it will work, of course make sure the phone accepts SIM cards because Telus still sells the odd phone without one.... also note that the iPhone 4 uses a MICRO SIM that is most likely different from your current SIM card. If you're not sure, just pop into any Telus shop and they can confirm that your current SIM will work with the phone you're considering. :)

It will. :)

I'm with Telus and I've switched around from iPhone 3GS to BlackBerry a few times for various reasons, it's never been an issue. In one case I had to call them and do a "handset swap" but it wasn't a big deal.

If you can't wait and you're OK trying an Android phone for the time being, FutureShop has a wicked Telus prepaid phone on sale:

You should be able to pop your SIM card in that and go. I'm actually thinking of getting one myself. I travel a lot and I cannot have no phone for even a few hours, due to work, so I need a good backup since my BlackBerry died and I'm stuck with just the iPhone.

What BlackBerry did you have? I'll check what SIM it uses and tell you what it will work with.

The 9360 takes a standard SIM size, so it's not compatible with the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. You can still use an iPhone 4/S but you will have to purchase a Micro SIM and have Telus do a handset swap, something like $20 one time fee I believe... but any other recent phones that accepts SIM cards will work with what you have.

What trouble is Telus giving you?

We went out there today and the guy we dealed with was very rude. Anyways, he gave me three options:

1) Pay off the remaining balance on the contract ($311)
2) Continue paying $45/per month for a useless phone
3) Get my phone fixed (~$100)

That's BS. Straight up BS!

Your plan is tied to your SIM card and you can use any phone as long as it accepts the SIM card. Years ago plans were tied to the individual phone but not any longer. I've never had any trouble switching phones nor has anyone else I've known with Telus and I've been with them from back when they were known as Clearnet!

Was this an actual Telus branded store or a dealer that sells Telus? Regardless, I would call Telus and ask if you can put your SIM card in another phone without any trouble. Just say you broke your phone, you're going to buy a new phone and want to make sure it'll be OK. Unless you have some really obsecure plan or some random account restrictions I've never heard of, that is total BS what the Telus guy told you.

Yes you can! Check out Craigslist too... (where I am I find Kijiji people charge more then Craiglisters lol) as long as it is unlocked or on the same carrier.
