I like Toshiba laptops. I have had Dells, vaio's, and Toshibas. IMO, for the price, Toshiba offers the best product. I always try to get the "latest" chip. I don't know if they are above i7, yet. But, software only gets "bigger"..so it is worth it.
Hiya I use a second hand ibm thinkpad its great for what I want out in the feild.
I use an inverter off of the car or truck battory a polaroid printer and a fujifilm fine pix camra.
I also use a hard drive 1 terra bite to back up all my pictures.
I use it with the horses and at work and horse forum.
I have had this for 2 years and I have a new batory on order for it.
I wish I had seen this thread when it was started, but I was not on the board then so I will chime in now.
Personally I won't touch an HP laptop with a 10 foot pole, certanly won't spend money on them, in the last 8 years HP has been in a steady downhill slide away from Quality, they are having serious motherboard issues, and are prone to just giving up the ghost.
For myself I prefer ASUS, they make a solid computer, and they build most of the laptops for Dell. Toshiba is also a pretty good brand.
I would also stay away from sony because sony has been known to use sub standard components in their gear to bring the price down, and I have seen a lot of issues with their product over the years.
My personal machine that I use day in and day out is an ASUS B53S, I am running windows 8, it works great for what I have to do with it.
