Minecraft - PS3 Version

Yes, Ale is back and is being a big nerd once again with another gaming thread. This time I will be focusing on Minecraft for the Playstation 3. Since my PS3s game tray is completely ruined, I cannot play any disc games. So I finally made the leap and downloaded Minecraft! I played the free version on the computer many years ago, but stopped playing and pretty much forgot about the game. I downloaded the game and spent like 8 hours of my time playing it with friends the first night. I cannot help myself; I am addicted!!

So does anyone else play Minecraft on the PS3?
Since the game doesn't have an open world platform like the computer version does, I wanted to ask if anyone wanted to become PSN friends and play together. My connection isn't always the best, but I've got a mic and the know-how to survive the first night from the threat of creepers and all of the other mobs out there. Hehee.

PSN Username:
HippieAle.

Happy crafting ;)

Daww. I never bought the PC version, I just used to play the demo version and always got trapped in creative mode. I adore survival and wouldn't really consider playing creative mode, unless I am building some massively sized, random structure or practicing making a cobblestone generator. You should invest in the PS3 version so that we could play together :o

Do you like the game so far? I haven't been able to get into it... (My endeavors are on Soul Calibur: Lost Swords right now xD)

...I don't have a PS3 :) so much as I would like to that's impossible at the moment.

It's weird, but I'm content to fly around the huge, amazing worlds generated in Minecraft for ages just admiring all the fantastic landscapes and structures. I'll occasionally begin building something in a picturesque location too. Place is VERY important to me before I start anything.

Sometimes I start a survival and pledge to myself I'll keep playing it and not make a new one when I'm sick of the biome or theme. Hahahahhhhh that never works, so I really need to get on servers to keep me occupied :).

I reckon you should definitely get the Minecraft PC, from what I've heard it has far bigger worlds and is just more geared as a PC game. I would say the price is definitely worth it - it has so much opportunity. Then again, I bought it when it was quite a bit cheaper as I think it's about $30 now. It's also updated frequently and I'm waiting excitedly for 1.8, not for the new items in game that I think are pretty pointless mostly but for name changes! I'm stuck with a very childish IGN at the moment and I definitely want to change it, especially as it doesn't fit on chests. I've got the name all picked out and everything

OK that was quite a bit longer than I expected. Sorry :/

I used to play Mincraft on the computer all of the time and loved it, even though I had no idea that there was actually a survival mode. I love being able to create anything that I want, build my biome how I please and actually gather things to create what I am seeking. The graphics are so simple, but the gameplay is so enjoyable for me. I hope that you are able to get into the game. Do you play the game on PS3?

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that loves skimming through worlds to find what amazing things people create. I have a really hard time playing on creative mode for anything other than just creating "artwork". I love survival mode because you have to work in order to, well survive! Hehe. I like that you have only a certain amount of time on the first day to gather supplies, make a hut and hide from the relentless mobs that want to blow you up, shoot you or whatever else :P I like that you actually have to gather supplies and craft items before you can have tools and blocks and everything else. Its much more enjoyable for me playing survival than having endless amounts of almost everything in creative mode. I would like to get back into the PC version and actually have the paid game, but right now that is not going to happen with all of my medical bills. Maybe one day in the future ;) Though, I really would love for them to update the PS3 version so that I could have horses. I would never leave the game in that case. And don't apologize about the length of your post, mine was pretty beefy too. Its nice to be able to find members on here that share my same interests <3
