I second that. I have that, Photoshop, and GIMP on my computer. Of course, PS and GIMP are going to be the best programs to use, but Photoscape is very beginner friendly, and has TONS of features. I recommend it to everyone that asks about this kind of stuff.
I had lots of fun with my pictures on plain old Microsoft Word. You can do so many borders and colors. Photoshop is very daunting. Maybe I will take a break and try it again next week.
I am trying to make a "fake" wine bottle label. They are fabulous gifts for the people who have everything. You take a picture of them on their horse, or their dog or something, make it look like a label and glue it on some of their favorite wine. So I would want to take, for example, the picture in my avatar, lighten it up a little in the shadows, that has me stumped right there. Then make the photo approximately 2 1/2" by 3". Then make a pencil thin border in one color, a border in another color that is 1/4 " all around but 3/4" on top and bottom where I would put some writing, then a pencil thin border around all that. The writing would be in different fonts and different colors on the label. I would say "Best End Vineyards" "2003 Pinot Grigio" "Located in Horse Butte, Montana" Because there is a Butte, Montana, I usually try and make the labels funny in some way. Should be doable right?
Okay, I gave up on the labels. Microsoft word is perfect for those. Made a couple for gifts that turned out perfect. Now, I am trying to fix a photo, finally made some progress there, fixed some blemishes. I should be happy I figured something out. But no, I am sooo frustrated by what I can't do. I want to put a teal green border on a pic and upload it to Costco. I cannot figure out how to put a simple colored border on a photo. And it will only let me upload to Kodak or Shutterfly. That is absurd. I don't like the prices on Shutterfly. I have always used Costco or Snapfish. I love Snapfish and don't want to switch. Sigh, any suggestions?
I very rarely edit my photos, but I do own every single editing program on the market. Half my family is into programing so I have all of them on hand.
But my main question to you...what computer system are you using? Apple or PC?
