Oh my gosh... This is creepy!!!

I have two at the moment separate emails, one exclusively for private use, friends, family ect., and one I use when I sign up for things like Horse Forum, ect. Helps to eliminate the junk from my private e-mail. To prevent it from happening again, I'd tell your friends to put an actual subject in the title, Party Tonight, or Homework Help, for example instead of just "hey". No one I know ever puts "hey" in the title, so those that do I skip, and those without actual email addresses I delete or spam. With all the craigslist stuff, I get spam mail, and sometimes it looks like an actual e-mail address, susieq@hotmail.com or something, but often I get e-mail addresses that are just a bunch of numbers and or letters, which is a sure sign that I don't want to even bother with them. I would just keep a closer eye on things, and like everyone else said, don't click on links unless you KNOW that it was sent by a friend, and you were expecting it. I got one once where it said "hey found a video of you, click and see" or something like that, fortunately others had already warned me about it, but it wiped a couple of my friends computers. You just need to be uber careful in this day and age.

Your email account was hacked. I just got a bunch of these from my daughter's account and it's happened to me as well. I changed my password and advised my daughter to do the same. Problem solved.

I will say that I've never, ever opened emails or clicked on links that I didn't know or trust. Still, it happened. You should really change your password every 6 months or so to prevent this from happening.

I get them too, I just don't click on the link and delete them.

I get what your all saying but the problem ius I can't just delete them on account of it says they are from people on my contact list

Its a virus.

If you open an email and it is something along those lines, with a link included, DELETE IT! Never click on links in an email unless you know what it is.

Having clicked the link in the email about the google money your computer will now have a virus somewhere on it.

Yeah, i've figured that.. theres heaps of posts here saying that

I got a e-mail supposedly from one of the banks telling me it was urgent and my bank account was in danger of being hacked (all this was in the title) I couldn't help but laugh because it wasn't from MY bank lol.
But if I get a suspicion looking e-mail from someone I know and it's supposedly from them I usually ask them if they sent it via IM or text.

Why can't you delete them?

I've had the same one lots of times... Gets kinda obvious when every single email has the same subject, or is being sent by the same person more than once. My yahoo email address doesn't get those ones, but my hotmail one does.

I nearly got caught out one day but it was a good thing I opened the email.
I had no idea who it was from but it was in my spam folder and the subject was "Are you still looking for a new horse?" I was just about to delete it when I thought, hang on a minute, why would an email ask me if I was still looking for a horse, they don't know I ride. So I opened it (after checking through my inbox to see if I could find any clues.) and it happened to be from the people I had emailed a few months ago about a mare, that I never ended up buying... That's how I bought Mitchell, through that email.
