printer won't talk to the computer

The computer person got most of the kinks working in my computer. Took a couple of days. Sigh.
For some reason the printer is installed. Tried uninstalling and re-installing. The computer shows that it is there but can't get anything to print. It says "windows cannot print due to a problem with current printer setup" I can click on the printer as a choice of where to print, so the computer knows it is there.
I am going to take the whole set up into the shop tomorrow because they ran out of ideas to try even with the remote log in.
Did I say... sigh.. already?
Any ideas???

It is probably going to cost me about as much as "relationship" counseling to get it to work. Hopefully it will have better results though. Lol
