Rise of the machines

They are becoming self aware.

For some reason...that kinda sorta creeped me out. I think I should be impressed by the feat of engineering and whatnot...but...nope. Still creeped out. lol

I don't think that is creepy at all. I see all the wonderful possibilites for it. For the wounded soilder coming back with missing limbs, for the child who was born missing an arm or leg...think of the freedom they would be getting back. Awesome.

If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.

I see what you are saying Andrea and if the video had been presented that way, I might not think it so creepy (I just watched the video, didn't read descriptions or comments).

My mind tends to go towards the nefarious things that can be done with machines rather than the benefits. I think I read too many outlandish futuristic novels where machines run amok. So I was envisioning these things running all over in a post-apocalyptic world with some crazy laser guns blasting away at anything with a heat signature. LOL

Yep, Big Dog is creepy as hell too.

Andrea, I totally understand how this technology can be used for good. However, I also understand all too well how it can be used to subjugate people.

Which is why I will never surrender the means to neutralize them.

Now I'm oddly fascinated in a creeped out sort of way...Big Dog gave me the willies.

When they showed the guys kicking it over to see how it would regain it's balance, I kept imagining...yeah...one more time dude and that Big Dog is gonna be all over your a**!!
