Also, did you say that when your overseas you can still get charged for text messages from providers? I thought SIM cards don't work out of your own region.
I live in Germany, and often travel to Belguim, France, Holland and the UK... all within Europe. However, I get holiday rates and charged around €2.99 for X amount of texts, phone calls and data usage. When I was out in Macedonia I was out of Europe and the charges were MUCH higher.
It's been a while since SIM cards stopped once you reach country boarders here, they work all over the world (providing you have signal of course!) and come as standard.
