Now some stupid questions from a beginner: what are these expansions etc? Can I download them from web or do I need to buy them somewhere? Can I "attach" those expansions in my current game and neigborhood or do I have to create a new game/neigborhood if I use them? Is there anything that I can download (legally) from the web and which would expand my game experience?

I think you can download stuff...me and my cousins each bought a few of the expansions and traded them so we didn't all have to go out and buy the same one. Now that the Sims 3 is so big, I'm actually finding it quite hard to find any more of the Sims 2 games...though thank god I bought all the ones I wanted before.

Personally, I recommend Seasons and Freetime, and maybe University. Pets is alright if you're really animal-oriented, but Seasons and Freetime definitely give you a lot of...well, expansion in the game. Nightlife is pretty good too, 'cause it gives you cars and whatnot.

And no, you don't have to create new towns. The expansions just add right on to your pre-existing games. :)

I have all of the first Sims for my pc. Then they came out with The Sims 2. So I eventually got all of The Sims 2. Now they came out with The Sims 3!! AAUUUGGGHHHH! I'm sure I will break down and start collecting that one too! That is alot of fricken money to spend on games only to upgrade and not be able to continue using the older ones. Too bad you can't just continue adding on instead of having to uninstall and reinstall and start all over.

If it's not half ass, it's just a horse!

Bah. I managed to destroy the neigborhood that I created with a lot of efforts .

Lessons learned: never do anything that you don't know how to do it.

I think some of you have perhaps already explored that but I found some horses for Sims 2 pc version. Even tho them are just decorative items, can't ride them, they don't move or anything. I've tried to found if there's some equestrian stuff for that game but haven't found anything better yet. Here are the horses if someone is interested:

Mod The Sims - Horses, Lucy and Ginger
Mod The Sims - The Only Horse Your Sims Will Ever Need

ETA: I perhaps found a way to make the horses rideable. Tho I haven't tried it yet: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=265537

There is a mod so you can get ridable horses...I just can't remember what it is. Keep in mind that there's quite a few glitches that come with it, and the horses' movements are really...not horseish. Lol.

^^I found it. It just doesn't work with me :(.

Bought an expansion pack (Open for business) on one online auciton. Now I'm just waiting the delivery.

Aw that sucks. It's cool because you're able to ride horses, but honestly, you're not missing out on much. I could live without it.

Open for Business is a pretty good one =)
