What phone do you own? Why do you like it?

Sorry to be starting another thread, but my other thread is a slightly different topic. I would like to know what phone do you own and why do you like it? What don't you like? Have you had any issues? If you could own any phone what would it be and why?

As you may have read in my other thread, im tossing up between a galaxy s5 and an iphone 5s. Im having huge problems choosing one. If I get an iphone ill sell my ipod so ill get a bit of money, if I get a galaxy ill keep my ipod. Any help you can offer will be a big help.

I have a Casio Commando smartphone. I like it because it's indestructible - waterproof, drop proof, shatter proof, freeze proof, salt fog, high heat - you name it. It's proven itself time and time again. I figure if I'm going to have a smartphone it needs to be touch - I've never broken my flip phones, but they're pretty tough as is. If I had a regular smartphone I would have broken it by now. Mine's been through a fall down a cliff, being left in the rain, in the car on 100 degree days, in the sane in the arena after it fell out of my pocket, etc etc etc, and not a single issue so far. Love the toughness.

I have an iPhone 5s. I like it because it cost me very little through my phone company.
Pros:
-compatible with lots of stuff
-apple store help is GREAT
-easy to use
-small size
-itunes is great

Cons:
-FRAGILE! Must be in protective case!
-trouble with touch ID passcode

I'm trying to decide between the same 2 phones. I'm interested in the picture quality of each phone. I'm leaning towards the Galaxy because of all the music I have stored on my current android. I don't want to lose it, but I want to be able to take good pictures. Thanks for posting this question.

I have an iPhone 4 (not 4s...just 4). I love it. I have yet to have a problem with it.

I had two Droids and I hated them. Within a few months I inevitably started having major issues with them. Randomly closing apps, randomly shutting down, running horribly slow. Just blah. My boss has an Android smartphone and she has had nothing but problems with it. They have replaced the phone for her three times now and it still has issues.

I would LOVE the Commando...if it wasn't an Android phone. I'm pretty hard on my phones, too.

I have an iPhone 5. (not the s)

That said, I would really recommend any Apple product. They last forever, the Operating Systems are always good. I could go on and on...

In response to Jumper about them being fragile, I'm not sure I agree... So long as you take decent care of it (and putting a case on it goes with that, I think) you really shouldn't have any problems. I certainly haven't (:

I agree. My boyfriend dropped his iPhone twice. First time shattered the back of the phone, second time shattered the screen. Both times he had taken the case off (complained that it was "too bulky" with the case on). I've dropped mine several times, even on asphalt and concrete, and it's not even scratched...but I've kept the case on at all times. I don't even have a fancy OtterBox or anything like that. I have a cheap rubber and plastic case (made by Travelocity, of all things) that I got at Big Lots for $8.

Happy to say I haven't had a single issue with the hardware itself - a few app-specific problems (crashing etc) that were fixed with an app update, but nothing hardware specific. I've had a commando for about 3 years now and I've definitely run it through the wringer a few times! Nothing but good things to say.

Iphones, on the other hand, I could rant on about for a long time. Very opposite experience from yours!

They sell Otterboxes and the like to make your phone quite a bit more rugged, they sell them for iPhones, too. They make your phone a bit blocky and bulky but heck if they don't do their job REALLY well. Anybody whose really worried about their phones should look into them!

ETA: I see you just posted about cases. I'll keep my last paragraph anyways, we posted at the same time!

this^^^^^

I had the Casio commando for a year and decided I wanted something else. I went through 4 phones in a 4 month period then pulled the commando back out of the drawer. It looked like it had been through a war before I bought the commando4g. I will not have another phone besides the commando as long as it last.

I have a IPhone 4, no problems so far, haven't had it quite a year yet, but a case is a MUST! My sister, some how has managed to shatter two screens in three years, because she doesn't use a case that often ( she charges on a dock, so you have to take the case off for it to be compatible, the case gets in the way if you don't) I personally love it for the music factor, if someone calls and I have my head phones in I'm not oblivious to it lol
